#Jonesfamilyreunion2015 Day Three

Today is PICTURE DAY! Imagine getting 26 people arranged, smiling, and looking at the camera. Then add the fact that someone needs to push the button on the camera timer and run back and get in the picture. Impossible!

We decided sort of last minute to choose a color palate-navy blue with sprinklings of red, green, and whatever else you had. I think it was a great idea, and it did help the picture look a little more pulled-together

We tried a variety of settings.

It didn't take long to fall apart.

If you think it's hard to get us all looking good,

try getting the grandkids to co-operate.

Impossible!

Oh dear....

...time to move on.

Aha! These guys will all behave!

What a good looking group!

Somebody kick Jessica for me.

Someone kick Megan for me

There we go.

The senior citizens.

Let's tempt fate by trying one more location.

Bassetts

Chase's smile in this one just makes me giggle.

Pretty cute!

These three look like they are posing for a magazine.

Ok, enough of endless portraits of my adorable posterity.

It's time to head back to Winter Park! Today we bought passes so that we could alpine slide to our heart's content.

A couple of speed demons.

Krew is on his own sled, right behind Jessica. Jess held on to his sled a couple of times, then he felt comfortable enough to zoom down on his own.

You had to ride the ski lift up, and Makayla somehow managed to get on by herself once. I can't believe she lived to tell about it. The first time I tried to exit the lift, I had sweat-glued myself to the seat and they had to stop the lift to unstick me. I can't believe I lived to tell about it.

Waiting our turn at the top.

Is that Amy causing the bottleneck?

Jessica's 3482th trip down.

This slide is famous because it is the world's longest alpine slide. It was a lot of fun--the grand kids never got tired of going up and coming down.

Megan and Brinlee, taken from the ski lift above.

We took turns leaving a few adults with the babies so that everyone could slide.

There were other things to do at the base, like miniature golf. Ashley and her entourage went a few rounds.

Hailey and her flying hair tried the trampoline.

So did Ava.

Ava also tried rock climbing, but she didn't like it. At all.

Some of our family members could shimmy up that wall like it was nothing. Ashley was quick,

and so was Hailey.

Makayla found a friend. Ashley's greatest fear is that it will eat her.

After a long, very fun day at Winter Park, we returned to the cabin and had more fun in the bouncy house.

Aunt Kelsey brought bubbles for all of the kids, and they had lots of fun blowing bubbles.

There was a nice deck off of the kitchen we could send the kids to go eat some of the delicious food.

That's not a brother teasing his sister, is it?

Hungry, hungry Nora. Doesn't she look like a redhead? Maybe when she has more hair we'll be able to tell for sure.

Koen is so hungry he could eat a bear.

Since Brinlee had a birthday just before our reunion, she brought some ice cream to celebrate.

What a smart girl!

Brinleee is this many.

Hannah falling into an ice cream coma.

There were herds of chipmunks at the cabin. They chewed on food left outside, and marched right into the cabin if you left the door open too long.

Children teaching these chipmunks humans are a good source of food. The chipmunks were happy to cooperate.

Despite appearances, Kailyn is not sleeping. She's reading. I think.

Having fun chasing bubbles.

All too soon, our reunion time was over.

Just to make our memories more, well, memorable, during our final night Hailey stayed up all night throwing up. She continued to throw up in the car on the way home. It was sooooo fun.

Not to be outdone, Makayla threw up in the car, too. The good news is that between the throw ups, they slept and slept and slept. They look comfortable, don't they?
Thanks for a great reunion, family! You are the best! See you next year.

  1. Very nice family pictures. We have much fewer and much less success.

  2. I hate to see it end. Well, except for the barfing in the car part. It looks like an absolute blast. (Well, except for the barfing in the car part.)
