Trip To The Place Of Dead Animals

Today I took the grandkids to Cabela's, which Hailey christened "the coolest place ever".

She wanted to know if her mom knew about this place.
 Amy?

Makayla and Hailey found all kinds of things they need for Christmas,

like these stuffed, stiff geese flying around overhead,

 these soft, cuddly, stuffed crocodiles,

and some picturesque wall decor. Hailey was really interested to know how the heads got cut off from the body, if there was blood, and where the wall with the bodies hanging on it was.  Hailey asks a lot of questions I really don't have good answers for.....

The girls especially liked the fish tank with all of the real, live, unstuffed fish swimming around in it.

You've got to wonder what kind of a Grandma would take her
beloved grandkids to a warped place like this.
This display elicited the following Hailey questions:
What is that kitty doing with that thing in her mouth?
How do they get the fur off to eat it?
Do they eat the eyes? ears? tongue?
How do they keep from falling off the wall?
FYI, Hailey does not accept "I don't know" as an answer.

When we got home, Makayla made some "Green Grapes With Shredded Cheese And Spray Whip Cream".

She ate three and a half bowls full, declaring it her "fave-it".

Hailey was in the mood to make hearts, so I showed her how to cut them out.

Makes you wonder why I'm letting Hailey put her hands on scissors

since we haven't recovered from our last Hailey-scissors-masterpiece.

Girls, next week let's hit somewhere civilized like Walmart.

  1. I don't know, Chris. There's a whole different breed of animal in Walmart.

Those animal heads on the wall are NOT for sale, Bob. Nope. They are there for ambience, and you can NOT take one home.

  2. HAHA Aunt Judy's comment made me laugh! There really is a different breed in Walmart! Cabela's is Jorden's favorite store too! Sad but true.
